Who Is The Powerful Owl?

Story: Originally created for ‘Night’s Watch Parliament’ exhibition 2017, & later shown in the ‘Nature & Us’ exhibition 2020. ‘Night’s Watch Parliament’ was a collaborative project to bring into the light these nocturnal endangered birds of NSW and Victoria.

Media & process: This is a mixed media piece using calligraphy with several broad edge nib sizes, inks & watercolour gouache; and the owl is drawn using soft colour pencils from my own photographs of these owls at the Bird Show, Taronga Zoo, Sydney Australia. The wording is quoted from Dept. Environment NSW about the owl’s characteristics and habitat.
