CELTIC ART – KNOT & SPIRAL PLANT PATTERNS

This course combines the use of Celtic knot patterns, spirals and drawings of plants to create interconnected Celtic designs.
Learn to draw your own Celtic Zoomorphic designs, intertwining native plants with Celtic knots & spirals. I use easy step-by-step methods to guide you into the world of Celtic art. You will learn how to ‘grow’ leaves and flowers from Celtic knots and twine them into spiral patterns.
You can start now to observe nature around you. Look at the shapes of leaves and draw a few as your own reference.
This course is open to beginners and intermediate students.
Materials list for students:
  • 2B mechanical/pacer pencil
  • Ruler, 30cm or longer
  • Eraser
  • Compass
  • Protractor
  • Empty jar, for rinse water
  • Rag, soft & absorbent like t-shirt fabric
  • Colour media, what you have or prefer to use: colour pencils; pigment markers;
  • Paints – water colours or watercolour gouache, acrylics & fine pointed brushes
